Changed gamer tag and now can’t access Xbox 360 saves

So how do I get the first account to update to the new gamer tag? I don't need the saves to be transferred to a different gamertag. I just want to be able to sign in on my 360 and have access to the saves that I made before the gamertag change.

Smwutches Is Correct, The Only Way Your Going To Have Access To A "Gamer Tag" That Has Already Been Taken Is If That The "Gamer Tag" Was Changed By The Owner Of The Current Gamer-tag Or If Xbox Live Forced The Gamer-Tag To Be Changed If It Violated The Code
Of Conduct In Some Form Or Way, Sorry Mate, You Are Going To Have To Find Another Gamer-Tag Or Be Creative, For Example, "Gengar Man" And So On.

Thats awesome to hear, but a question, so if I reformat i would have to do something to recover my gamer profile to the now empty HD and that would enable me to access history which is I guess saved to that xbl gamer tag? Basically will reformatting hurt
my chances of recovering my gamer tag to that HD

People should get a new change gamer tag as people change and gamer tags may be irrelevant now.
