I'm sorry to see any frustrations when attempting to recover your old account! We are unable to assist with these issues on the forums. You can go through the

password recovery process, which it seems you might have. If you receive an email stating that you have not provided enough information, then you will want to call up our

phone support within a couple of days of getting that email to have them go through our escalation process to help recover that.

These didn't work since the hacker changed the email and password. So I cannot change or reset neither.

I set up my account years ago with an email that is no longer valid. I've changed all my account settings and removed the old email, but when I try to sign in to the store, it asks for the password to the old (supposedly removed!) email. When I enter the
password, it says it doesn't recognize the email (probably because it's been...you know...DELETED!)

I've gone through the steps of entering my current email and getting the code via text to reset my password. And I'm actually signed in to the store with the new email, but when I try to download a game, the sign-in box pops up with, you guessed it, the
old DELETED email. There's no way to change it.

Should I delete the Store app and reload it? I'm not sure how to do that, so step-by-step instructions would be great. Thanks!

I used a old email and I forgot the password so I can't get back in it and I really need that account I can't change the password bc i don't have that email its old and so is the phone number

if you did update your info then try signing in with the old email that was on the account, if that doesn't work then take that email to accounts.live.com and go through the password reset steps on there

That's right NAFFRY, xbox support has confirmed this. On recovering my account, which i shouldn't have been able to do since they said they had locked it. Now i can't change my windows id password on my pc cos they want to send a reset to my old redundant
email address. Can i change the password on my xbox thus avoiding this issue with my old email address?
