Changed email now I cannot sign in to xbox live

I recently changed the email for my Microsoft account and made it the primary alias. Now when I go onto xbox live the old primary email still appears in the prompt to sign in and when I enter the password it says that the password is incorrect. It has not
been 48 hours so that could be the problem, but not being able to use the services for two days seems a little ridiculous, any help appreciated.

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

Changed my email, cannot access solitaire games.

Changed email because was getting too many spams. now i cannot sign in to xbox.com to play solitaire.

How do i update my new email for xbox? I can sign in to MSN account o.k.

On xbox 360 I was allowed to input the email and it worked perfectly so its just a problem with xbox one.

fixed it by adding my parents account and then pressing add to the family on my account which prompted the correct email, don't know how that worked

Same here , it says on mine "someone has changed your security" I clikc "yes this was me" then it comes up with "continue using your account" I clicked "next" but then it goes back to first page?

i am trying to change my xbox live to united kingdom as i signed up with spanish email address but for some reason i cannot get it to change

You cannot permanently delete an account, if you want to use the email from the old account. do this..............

1) Go here--live.xbox.com/.../billingaccountinformation

2) Either make new email though whoever you want (I suggest AOL.com) or use another email that you don't use, this new email cannot be on any other Xbox LIVE account

3) Once you have changed the email on the old account, let's go in with the new by signing into your new account and because the email on the old one now is not on any Xbox LIVE account, you may now use the email that was originally on the old account
