Hi,

Once you sign in to the
Xbox website, the Games app on Windows 10 or on an Xbox console, it will automatically create a random Xbox Gamertag.

If you are trying to delete an Xbox Account or Profile from your Microsoft Account, the Microsoft Account itself will be deleted.

However, you have an option to change the email address attached to the gamertag by following the steps on this

link.

I did try that previously, and tried again just now. It still didn't work for me.
HOWEVER you did give me a good idea; I have another Microsoft account, so I logged in with that one. It was successful. I then signed out of it, and tried to log in with my original account;
that worked.

So it was almost like I had to force my original account to really sign out by switching accounts to a totally different one, and then when I signed back in with it it correctly 'provisioned' everything. If that makes sense.

Have you tried selecting the "use a different account" option? When I changed my email address from a school email to a Gmail account, I selected that option and it worked. It might not work, but could be worth a shot.

ugh Ive seen nothing but issue as a beta tester...smh
