Change xbox gamertag email to new one

Ok first off i had no idea where to post this.

All i want to do is move all my details from my old account which is 6+ years old to my new one.

Can you sign in Xbox live with a different E-mail account?

yeah just create a new email address, go to xbox.com and change the email associated with your gamertag. heres the lnk for you.

Ran into an issue with backwards compatible games. (Please Help.)

It gives you an option to download new profile (Gamertag). It will have you enter your email address and password, and everything should be there. I changed my Gamertag last week and everything worked perfectly fine.

 

1.Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2.Go to Settings and select Account.

3.Scroll right to Your Information and select Account Security.

4.Select Microsoft account.

5.Do one of the following: •If you already have another Microsoft account, select Yes.

•If you don't have another Microsoft account, go to accounts.live.com and click Sign up. After you have another Microsoft account set up, select Yes and continue with the next step.

6.Enter the password for the Microsoft account that's currently associated with your gamertag and select Sign in.

7.Enter the email address and the password for the new Microsoft account that you want to associate with your gamertag, and then select Sign in.

8.Select Yes, change to change the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox Live account.

9.Select Update Contact Information to update your contact information or Done to finish.

what happens when you follow this?

 

Is this online or on the xbox one?

 

If it is on the xbox one i don't see the option select account anywhere!!!!

 

It's through the web, not online.

I can honestly say i cannot see the settings button anywhere. Here is what i am doing. I go to the xbox website. I sign in in the top right hand side and it signs me in. There is no settings button after that point. I click on my profile and it is not there
at all. Why could they just not give us a link instead!!!

This has to be the most complicated way in history of doing this!!!!

 

Yes it will, just follow the directions in that page.

 

If though you are still trying to change to an email that is already connected to an old account to your new account you will need to follow the link in your Op. In this case it may be easier for you to just have a new email address all together.
