I am getting that same error message . my profile loads .X-box live loads but my profile will not connect to x-box live.

fixed it. Deleted mij profile from my x-box then deleted the cache memorie 3x and after that re-installed my profile back on my x-box.

Now it runs without any problems.

It is impossible to set-up two Xbox profiles using the same email address. So something isn't right here. Profiles are based on Microsoft accounts and these account are not allowed to share the same email address or alias.

Either your brother has somehow managed to change the details on your profile to make it his own or if you say you can still search and find your profile elsewhere, then the only thing I can suggest is that he has managed to change your email address so
he can use it.

I would go and check your Microsoft account details to make sure all is as it should be.

Unfortunately, I feel the the younger brother of 7 would not know how to change details like you mentioned but you never can tell with these young ones.
