Change the Microsoft account that my gamertag (XboxLive) is associated to.

Can this be done via XboX One? In the help on this problem it seems that I have to change the account on a xbox 360.

I wan't to move my gamertag from my Microsoft account to my sons account as he is the one dooing all the gaming.

Adding/Changing an email to an existing Gamertag

Gamertags are tied to a Microsoft account, so changing the email address associated with the Microsoft account will also change the email address associated with that gamertag. There's a guide on

At the moment there is unfortunately no other way to have it transfered than with a 360.

If your son's Microsoft account doesn't already have a gamertag associated with it then you can try to use this link to make the change. Once you log in, you will be prompted to change it. You can use an existing. Good luck

If his Microsoft account has already been associated with a gamertag then it's alot more difficult to do.

 

This is also only the change of the primary email address and not a change of the live ID!

I also want to change the old Gamertag (I'm logged in with it right now) to the new Live-ID I'm using for Windows, Outlook, Skype, etc.

I have a Xbox 360 and I know how to transfer it but will my digital game licences from the Xbox One transfer too or are they stored on the old Live-ID?

They are bounded to your gamertag not the live ID. I did that myself some time ago and everything worked fine.

Did that to separate my gaming account from my mcp account. All games and subscriptions will move with your gamertag to the new account. Only credits will not be transferred but stick with the old live ID.

I will get my Xbox One tomorrow, the problem right now is that I have to wait 30 days before I can transfer the Gamertag (because I had to create a buffer account) and I wanted to buy some games within that duration and share them with a friend. Now I can
do it and don't have to wait. That's great!

I have another question. I read on Xbox.com that you can change the home console three times within a year. Do I have to wait four month for each change or could I theoretically change it three times within one day and then I would have to wait 364 days
to do it again? This is important because when I transfer my old Gamertag to my new Live-ID after 30 days I have to change this on my friend's console too.
