    Hello,

    I've been told my Xbox Live Gold membership is a promotional one and therefore doesn't qualify for Xbox Live Rewards VIP - how can I change this?

    How to get a free xbox live gold trial?

    There is often gold for a dollar promos for new subs. I haven't bought a physical game in so long that I have no idea if they still do free xbox live gold for a few days in some of the boxes though.

    Online retailers often have it for a discount.

    Hey LoneWolf, that's unfortunate. I had my suspicions about the promo, that's why I didn't order when I saw 9.99. I bought EA Access and a Gold Membership separately, but used a Gold code on the promo page. So maybe in September they'll prolong my EA
    Access Membership.

    I got the same thing but on FIFA 15, the problem was that my gold membership was over. And then the "auto" live thing changed my live to a free trial version, so I tried to buy a new gold membership and it worked.

    When Games for Windows Live launched, a Gold Membership was required to play multiplayer games via Matchmaking, but non-matchmaking was fine with an Xbox LIVE Silver (Free) membership.

    About four or five years ago, they changed it so a Gold Membership was no longer required/needed for anything to do with Games for Windows Live. A Gold membership does nothing for PC gaming.

    Until you add them to your Gold Family Pack, "Gamertag" will not have access to any Gold Family Pack features.

    Although your existing Xbox LIVE Gold membership will work in the new region as long as it’s supported there (see the previous section, “Xbox LIVE Gold Membership,” for more information), the associated Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack memberships will remain
    active but might not work like they should.

    Even if these memberships stop working, if you have recurring billing, you’ll continue to be charged for your Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack memberships until you cancel at your My account page.

    If Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack memberships are available in your new region, you can start a new membership once you’ve changed regions.

    If you have trouble canceling your subscription online, contact Xbox Support.



    i think this applies to everyone who is already in the family membership not someone who transfers regions



    if you had created the family membership and not added someone this may apply you will have to contact support as this is a new tool
