Change of Profile

I want to hand my account over to my son, which will involve changing the display name and gmail account associated with the Xbox profile account, can I do that without loosing all the gaming linked achievements/purchases for forza/minecraft etc?

I wished for the same thing as you, but I think this transfer is impossible due to security. Things happen.

When I put in my email and password, it tells me that they are associated with this account I'm using now that I've recently set up on the computer. Do I have to transfer this one over to my Xbox?

Okay, so there is a way that you can get an online account with your current e-mail.

You'll want to start by following the steps that Xbox Italy has posted above. Set up the account using pretty much any e-mail you'd like. Maybe create a throw away account for it.

Then you can follow the steps here:
http://support.xbox.com/billing-and-subscriptions/account-management/switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account to swap your online account to your desired e-mail and info.
