    we have an old xbox, we have now moved to france and I would like to set it up, but when i try and purchase a game it says outside of location. Do I need to reset the xbox? Also, the xbox account does not appear to be the one linked to my microsoft
    account, how do I get them to sychronise? thanks for your help.

    You can't. You would have to create a new account.

    Sorry to hear about your situation.



    However, the only way to change the region (from U.S. to U.K.) would be to do an Account Migration (https://live.xbox.com/en-US/AccountMigration). Unfortunately, once a region is
    set, this is the only way to change it.



    But, since this is a new account, it would be easier to create a new GamerTag and put in the correct information there.

    Once an account is created the region can not be changed. Your only recourse is to create a new account with the correct region selected.

    Sorry to hear it. If it's a 360 and was purchased in a different country then the problem would be with the console as different countries use different video codecs. I'm afraid that you would need to look into purchasing a new console in that country.

    As for the account, please make sure you're signing in with the email and password that you used when creating the gamertag
