Change of email address

I need to change my email adress as well. But I haven't been able to find where to do it. The reason for the switch is because my idiotic friend entered my email in to a bunch of spam sites and now I'm getting non-stop spam mail in my in box. The list gets
over 1000+ emails a day and that's with cleaning it out every morning. So I really need to get it switched over. Any help is great. Thanks.

Hey there,

What you have changed is just your payment and billing contact e-mail. To completely switch your gamertag to a new Microsoft Account, you'll need to be on an Xbox 360 and follow the instructions
here.

hey there try this site to change your Microsoft email address attached to your Gamertag:

account.live.com/Changeid.aspx

to change the email where your Xbox notifications go to (which would be your contact email) log into your account at
Sign in to your Microsoft account then click on billing info on the left hand side. Click edit profile at the top and the email address it has listed there is the email where your notifications go.

You can switch email addresses between the accounts only if they are not Hotmail, Outlook or Live emails. You can NOT switch gamertags between Microsoft accounts in any way.

Thank you guy I have tried this. Now im getting a message saying can not change account. Visit xbox.com/accountswap. I've just created the new email to sign it to. Why is this happening.

Sri, the last sentence is only relevant of you transfer your gamertag to an other live account, not if you just change the primary email alias of your existing account. This is because payment options are bounded to the live account and not the gamertag.

Hello mate so this a really easy fix. So all you need to do is go onto your Xbox 360 and go to the Dashboard than all the way to the right under the settings tab on the dashboard there it says Account click on that. There you will see Account Security click
that. Than click Change Microsoft Account.

So (Dashboard-Account-Account Security-Change Microsoft Account. And then enter the new email address you wish to use for your GamerTag.
