Change of email address problems.

My email service cancelled my email address so it no longer works, so I changed my xbox sign in to the new email address and everything works fine. I can sign in here and on the xbox using those credentials. However, on the xbox it still offers me the option
of signing in to another profile with the old email address but no password works. On my new sign in credentials when I go and look at my account info on the xbox I see the old email address still there despite having gone into my account details online and
removed it everywhere I could find it. How do I shift everything over to the new email address?( I deleted the new profile and downloaded again, no joy).

What you have changed is just your payment and billing contact e-mail. To completely switch your gamertag to a new Microsoft Account, you'll need to be on an Xbox 360 and follow the instructions

I need to change my email adress as well. But I haven't been able to find where to do it. The reason for the switch is because my idiotic friend entered my email in to a bunch of spam sites and now I'm getting non-stop spam mail in my in box. The list gets
over 1000+ emails a day and that's with cleaning it out every morning. So I really need to get it switched over. Any help is great. Thanks.

 

Update. It's changed over fine on the 360.

 

Now I have started to watch TV I keep getting a message popping up saying 'sorry but you have been signed out'.

 

You need to delete your old account from your One and redownload it again with the new creedentials.

 

Thanks for replying but I have already deleted and re downloaded as you say. I can't sign in to the old account anymore because no password will give me access.

Hi there. yes it's still going on. I'm 100% certain that no one else is using my credentials on the Xbox. I haven't changed the password for the working credentials for a few months. Is there a way I can reset the xbox to wipe everything and restore it with
the new working profile? Are all my loadouts, preferences, DLC etc stored on the cloud ready to percolate down to a newly wiped xbox?

 

Simply answered... YES.

Your savegames are stored in the cloud and all your digital purchases (games and dlcs) can be reinstalled after a factory reset. They are linked to your profile. Usually you'll find them at "ready to install" at the very right of games and apps section or
marked "install" in the store. If you use an external hard drive you may move them before doing a factory reset so you do not need to reinstall them.

So do a factory reset and then redownload your profile again and check if that helps.

 

Cool thanks for that. I actually found an option buried in a sub menu that just offered me an option to 'delete this person'. I don't know why I didn't find it with all my previous hunting but it's all working now. Thanks for your help, guys.
