It

happens that when I open sea of thieves, an ad appears and tells me

that the way my account is configured prevents me from playing online. Can you tell me what settings need to be changed to play? thank you.

Hey there Skad, let's see if we can take a closer look at the issue here, to get a better idea of what's going on. Xanderian, can you please let us know what error your father is getting specifically when he tries to log in on the PC? And to be sure,
he was able to successfully change his password, yes?

Ok, so this week I got 1600 microsoft points, and my brothers and I now have Xbox Live Gold Family Pack. We have one small problem that seems to be a huge deal. My account is set to Teen, so I can't purchase anything, and my dad has forgot his password.
Also, he deleted his email, and can't change his email since he doesn't know his password. Whenever he went to change it, it seemed to work on the PC, but as soon as he tried to log on to the PC or Xbox 360, it didn't work. A long time ago, he called support
but he said and I quote, "All they say is to wipe the hard drive." We have tried everything, (of course, except for wiping the hard drive) but nothing seems to be working. We are in a very tight position because getting new Xbox Live accounts would mean we
lose our points and Xbox Live Gold Family Pack. If there is anyway to do so, please help us. Thanks.

so what i did was go to Sign in to your Microsoft account this is where you change your settings butt you need to be in a family and must be added as an adult. but even
as i changed the settings in xboxone/windows10 (allow multiplayer it still didn't work BTW i'm a pc player and i spent bloody $100 for the game and i literally can play it.

You can try to change the settings on the website. Click "My Account" in the top right, below your gamertag. Then click "Privacy and Online Settings." Hope it helps.

Are you by any chance on parental settings? If so that might be your problem.

I'm having a very similar issue except every time I try to go to the settings it brings me back to the "family and privacy settings" page. I don't have a
parent account and I'm fairly certain that my account is not a child account. Though I'm trying to change settings to join realms on Minecraft. I've also been trying to fix this problem for
the better part of 2 hours and haven't gotten anywhere. I've been sending feedback, help requests, and now this comment so I hope to get answers soon.

I would suggest going to your Xbox account settings and check your account restrictions. some of these restrictions can stop you from playing multiplayer, joining parties, sending messages, ect.
