Change my gamertag please!!

I've been a loyal customer to Xbox for over 5 years. I made my Xbox live gamertag when I was a child and would now like it updated. I'm looking to buy a next gen console this month, if I am to choose the Xbox one I'd want an updated gamertag.
The Xbox one is expensive enough without me having to fork out another £10 to change a name!

Please can you change my gamer tag free of charge?

There is no way to get a free gamertag change, no-one can do that for you.

The only way to change your gamertag yourself is to go the route of paying the fee.

You do not need to change your gamertag.

Block communication with this person, and report them for the harassment.

One doesn't simply get a free gamertag change because THEY SAY they are being threatened, then everyone would claim this.

 

the only way to Change a Name is to pay for it

2 exceptions:

1. its your first gamertag Change within 30days after creating your account

2. your Name is changed to a random different Name because it was reported for violating the Terms of use

 

I've seen the price drop for changing your gamertag in the recent past. If you don't want to pay full price you have to wait for a sale.

 

actually partially correct the first 30 days thing only works if the system created a random generated tag for you, if you got one of those THEN you would get a free tag but only within the first 30 days, after that you would have to pay.

 

Unfortunately, you'll need to pay to change your gamertag. Free changes are not provided.

 

You can actually request a gamertag change if your real life name is Giggs

 

Not true only if it violates the rules that one does not please do not give out false info thanks.

 

That still won't get you a name change. It's not recommended to have your name in your gamertag, but it's no violation. You would still have to pay to change it.
