Change Microsoft Account - Error code 8016fe6d

So I bought a new laptop with Windows 8, and created a Microsoft account with my current email. I followed the directions here to try and change the Microsoft account linked to my gamertag:Error 0x8015402d | Microsoft Account Error | Xbox 360 Error

When I follow the instructions and try to change the account from my xbox 360, I get error code8016fe6d. When I look up the error code on xbox support, none of the possible causes or solutions apply. After reviewing the forums, I think the cause may be
the fact that on my new Microsoft account I just activated Office 365; when I look up that account on commerce.Microsoft.com, it is listed as a business account. It seemed that others on the forums linked that to the cause for the error code.

Others on the forums also said that Tier 3 support could resolve this issue, but most of what I saw on here was over a few months old, and was wondering if there was updated information, or if anyone knew of a simple way to get this to work.

Changing Microsoft account accosiated with gamer tag

I set up 2 set verification on both accounts and still get the error code 8016FE6D after hitting 'Yes, change' after signing in to both accounts.

I've also tried making a different primary alias for the current Microsoft account, but I get the same error there too.

Windows 8 creates a gamertag on your Microsoft account, because it uses Microsoft store which contains Avatar items

 

I made sure not to create a new xbox live profile, since I already have a gamertag. When I clicked on "games" on my laptop, and tried to sign in, it took me to a screen that prompted me to create a new xbox live profile under my new Microsoft account. I
made sure to back out, and that is what prompted this whole process.

I am pretty sure there is not a new gamertag associated with my new account. I don't want there to be; I want to switch my current gamertag to my new Microsoft account.
