"Change Microsoft Account" efforts ALWAYS FAIL!!

I keep thinking I will be able to change the email associated with THIS gamer tag but, for
the last 3 months, that has NOT been the case. To wit, dear reader...

THIS account (PackerBackers6) is now associated with an email address ("Dead") that I no longer can access (changed ISP). I have a second account (HolyHOGRider) that is associated with a Hotmail address ("Hotmail") [BTW...looooong story behind why I have
2 gamer tags]. My goal is to have "Hotmail" be associated with PackerBackers6 and then get rid of HolyHOGRider.

Before today, I tried to associate two different GMail addresses I have used for Microsoft "Live" purposes to the HolyHOGRider tag. GMail1 I messed up by logging onto xbox.com and creating a gamer tag for that account. GMail2 was within the 30 day "window"
so that didn't work. So I waited over 30 days and today...

I attempted to associate HolyHOGRider with GMail2 and I received the "30 day period" warning. Really? How long is 30 days? I haven't changed the password on the GMail2 account ANYWHERE in over 60 days. I have looked for what triggers the "30 day wait"
and I cannot find any conditions that I met. So I attempted a new strategy and created a brand, spankin' new Outlook.com account...and now I have to wait 30 days before I can associate that account with HolyHOGRider.

If I own, control, and have any and all security information for PackerBackers6 and HolyHOGRider AND the "Dead" and "Hotmail" accounts, how come I can't just talk to someone and have the email accounts swapped between the two.

NOW I have 2 gamer tags that I wish to have purged.

Is there any chance I can get a better explanation about why I have to wait another 30 days to utilize my GMail2 account when I can't see what I did to trigger another 30 day wait? Is there anyone who can explain the logic/common sense behind the maddening
complexity of changing associated email accounts?

In closing, I have been "involved in" the IT/IS industry for over 25 years so I do have about 2 clues about what I am doing.

The wait time may have been due to downloading your profile from Xbox LIVE onto your console or device. Doing so will reset the 30 day timer. Do you think that may have been the reason?

Thanks for the reply. Both the PackerBackers6 and HolyHOGRider accounts have been on the Xbox 360 over a year. I hadn't logged in using the HolyHOGRider profile for at least 6 months until I tried to re-associate email addresses 3+ months ago. Additionally,
neither have been moved from this unit, although PackerBackers6 is used on both this unit and the one in our family room. Would the fact that PackerBackers6 is used on two 360s and would, therefore, need to be updated when accessed from a different console
cause a "download" and then "reset" the 30 day timer?

If that is the case, would I then need to delete the PackerBackers6 account from one of the consoles and then not use it on that console for 30 days?

No that would not be the case. What I have been told by Support Agents even update something such as resetting the password, billing info could cause the reset as well.
