    Hello, Remy here.

    I am currently playing through Dark Souls 2 with my wife. I am American, and she is Japanese. We would like to play together, but in our respective languages. So far we have been playing with my digital version and an English disk copy I have, but both are
    playing in English with an English UI.

    I have tried uninstalling the game from her xbox and reinstalling after changing her console and region to Japan/Japanese, but the game still comes out in English with a English UI. Considering this game was originally created in Japan I know a Japanese
    audio and UI exist, but I'm having trouble getting it to work.

    On this same note, what is the easy way to tell if there is xyz language support for a game? I've been looking around on the forums and reddit for a few days now, and I find it hard to believe that a company as big as Microsoft cannot put a simple tag in their
    store that identifies the supported languages for a given game.

    Apologies, I remember trying to sort the issue for a friend before and was unable to, so my information was clearly incorrect. Also, be advised the voice acting is still in English. The subtitles should be in Japanese though if you have sorted it.

    If you are using the xbox 360 version of the game, you should know that this DS 2 version has issues with changing languages from the purchasing region.

    It's funny that you say that because I actually just got it working.

    I changed region and every language to Japanese and did a full power cycle restart.

    Then I rebooted and installed the game with all of the settings in Japanese.

    Finally I ran the game and it was all in Japanese.

    When I changed the language back to English on the console the game was still operating fully in Japanese.

    @ReadyUser71851 you should really know for sure what you're talking about before replying to a message like this. Had I not already solved the issue I would have found your authoritative response to the negative to be quite disheartening.

    Unfortunately, you can't. Firstly, Dark Souls game have English voice-acting, even in Japan. It's about that Western-fantasy style. Also, where you bought the game determines the subtitles and text. So, unfortunately, it can't be done on Xbox.
