    Change GT


    I am trying to change my Gamertag to "". On Sign in to your Microsoft account it states that I can change it once for free. I have never changed my Gamertag
    and yet it says I own 9.99 when changing it. I have tried on both my PC and Xbox 360.

    i changed my gamertag a little over a week ago and it has not updated on the ambassador site. i just want it to update so i can check my level, and stats.

    Hi there,

    depending on when the account was initially created you may get a free gamertag change. Nowadays you will be assigned a auto generated gamertag when creating an xbox live account and therefor a free change is received.

    Since your current gamertag is one that was not auto generated you are not entitled for the free change, which is why you are shown the 9.99 price.

    So because I've been a member for to long I get *** out of the free change? Where is that stated? It simply says I get a free change, and I would like that.

    And no its actually says if you were not given a choice

    You can easily change your Xbox Live gamertag. If your gamertag was created for you during your initial Xbox Live sign-up (meaning you did not choose your gamertag), you can change the gamertag one time for free. Additional Xbox Live gamertag changes cost
    extra.

    Since you have a custom name you already chose

    Hi SomeSuperOreo! I like that gamertag!! You will not have to send out invites to your friendlist.That will stay the same.You may want to send them a message letting them know that you changed your gamertag though.Hope this helps! Happy gaming!!!

    You cannot request a GT change because you do not have the money for one. If you feel you are being harassed you need to file complaints against those users and block communications. Have a look at this link for more help

    You made a thread about this yesterday and were told in no uncertain terms that unless your GT is actually offensive (eg you're named Hitler) then you get no forced name change. Stop trying to game the system and just stump up the 800 points.

    The only time you can have a force GT change is if an enforcement team deems your GT inappropriate (then they will force it), or if your GT contains any personally indentifiable information (PII). Otherwise you'll have to pay 800msft points for it.

    "Solution 1: Clear and download the console update again

    There might be a problem with the console software update. To solve this problem, try clearing a portion of the update, and then download the update again. Here’s how:

    On your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.

    Select Memory.

    On your controller, press the following button sequence:

    Press the left bumper.

    Press the right bumper.

    Press the X button.

    Press the left bumper.

    Press the right bumper.

    Press the X button.

    When prompted, select Yes.

    After the console restarts, sign in using an Xbox LIVE gamertag, and download the update again."
