Change from child to parent account?

i bought an Xbox 1 and spent a lot on games,etc. I found out after a year I've been using a child's account so I can not live stream and a few other things I think I ran into this problem before and had to just forget about it cause I could not find a solution.
I never knew about there being a parent account in the first place. *I bought the Xbox second hand from another person but they had factory reset it and that was all I think. Please help been trying to get this out of my life

Gamertag missing

To make the story short:

- a did a mistake removing from family the account of my child

- I added back the account and changed email to a new one

- both accounts (child and parent) see each other as family members

Problems:

- parent privacy & security settings : cannot see my child's gamertag

- child - privacy & security settings : I get an error

- child - change gamertag: error too

- parent can log in to xbox live

- child cannot log in xbox live: error says parent account is not valid

Help to solve this mess is needed!!!

Change from parent to child email address

When I set up my son on his new Xbox One, I used my email address to set hime up. He is now old enought o have his own account so I want to switch his Xbox1 profile/screen name over to his own email address. How do I do that without him
losing all his history? Thanks.

Sorry to see any frustrations with account settings! I'm not sure if this is the account you mean, though. I see on
your profile that you've only played Xbox 360 games. Is there another account that you are talking about? We'll be able to dig into it further once we have the account that's been
on Xbox One.

You can change the parent account from the family settings on the xbox console and add the account as a child to a new parent account

You can't change an xbox child account into adult. the account can be upgraded by the parental account only when the child account registers 18+ of age from the servers

So when your son is able to sign into the account on the days that it is set to blocked is it possible that there is also an adult account signed in even though its not being used. If a parental account is signed in at the same time as the child account
then it assumes that the child account has permission since they are playing together. If the child has figured this out you can Set up a Passkey
to prevent the parental account from being signed in.

A passkey protects against a child signing in as the parent and overriding parental controls. A personal passkey prevents a child from simply clicking on the parent’s picture, signing in as the parent, and changing the child’s otherwise
parentally controlled settings.

If your account was before a Child account as a part of a Family Group, You'll have to add yourself again into a Family as a Child account. You must use another account as Parent, then after you add your account as Child, you make the privacy changes in
your account through the Parent account. Afterwards; you can remove your account from the Family.

If you don't have another account to make it as Parent, you must create a new one.

The Parent account is Organizer , the Child account is a

Is this other account a child account? You'll get that error if it has a parental account over it. You can check for sure by signing into the gamertag, to to settings > privacy and change settings. Doesn't matter what to, really, but you might want to look
at what is was set to first. If you attempt to change a child account's setting, it'll ask for the parental account's password.

If this pops, the account is child and needs to be removed from the parental account before you can add it to the family pack.

To separate the child and parent, you have to download the parent account, go to the family center and choose the account you are trying to add. Remove from family, and then you can log back into the primary family account and add the account you want.
