Change Email Associated with Xbox Gamertag

When we first got our xbox, we had two accounts with gold. One under my siblings email, and one under my dad's email. Since my dad doesn't play on our xbox, I 'claimed' it as my own and have been playing on it ever since we got our xbox. However, whenever
we have to make changes, it keeps asking for the password to his email, so I have to wait for him to come home and put it in himself. Both of us think this would be so much easier if we could switch the email associated with the account to mine, so I can make
the changes by myself. I don't want to make a new account because I want to keep my progress on all my games. Is this possible to do?

Can you sign in Xbox live with a different E-mail account?

yeah just create a new email address, go to xbox.com and change the email associated with your gamertag. heres the lnk for you.

This says I have to remove the original email, but my dad still uses a Microsoft account for his work

 

That removes the association of that email address with that gamertag.

I'm curious as to if your Dad's email is a Microsoft one, as it sounds like it is, and also when this account was created, was it created using your Dad's Microsoft account? if this is the case, it could cause issues with changing the associated email, but
I'm not 100% sure.
