Change email address for Microsoft account

I want to change my email address for Microsoft account, but I can't because I closed my Yahoo account a few months ago because of SPAM mails (there were a lot of SPAM mails). I didn't realized that my MS account was registered with that email. How can I
change it now?

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

You might need to start an Outlook account then. Go to Outlook.com and login using your Microsoft account.

Hey, Maverick!

Spam is very much the bane of all of our existences, so I understand why you would shut that down.

First, I would suggest adding a phone number if you don't already have one on your
Security proofs. From there, you should be able to add a new address, make it your primary email, and then remove the other address. Using your phone to prove it's you will help aid this.

Gamertags are tied to a Microsoft account, so changing the email address associated with the Microsoft account will also change the email address associated with that gamertag. There's a guide on

how to change the email address associated with your Microsoft account that can help walk you through that process.

Hi there,

you can't merge accounts itself or fully move the Xbox Live Account to a different Microsoft Account, but something that could work for you is changing the primary email address for the Microsoft Account.

My assumption what steps might be required are:

- Change the primary email on the New Unused Xbox Account account to something else (you might need a new MS account/email for that) so that the Wanted email address is no longer attached to a Microsoft Account.

- Change the primary email on the Old Xbox account to the new wanted email address, so that that Wanted email address can be used to sign in to the Xbox main account.

the only thing you can change is the email address used to sign into a Microsoft Account (Xbox Live Account), this will only change the email address used to sign into the account. (It doesn't transfer the full Xbox Live Account to a different Microsoft
Account)

Changing gamertags, will only result in a different gamertag, it does not change the account or take any save game progress with it.

Is the change sign-ing email address option what you seek or do you want to achieve something else?

Maybe I am not following this but could you not just get him and email address and change the email address on the account to his email address. That would free up your email address to use the way you need. support.xbox.com/.../change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account
