Change console region and buy from other locations (cheaper)

Hello all,

I just found out that in some countries, the games can be really cheaper and I also noticed that we can change the location of the console.

Is it legal that I do so ? Can I change my region buy the games and then go back to my previous region? Can I be banned ?

Playing Destiny today by changing your console region

Has anyone had any luck doing this? I tried changing it to the New Zealand Region still says unavailable.

For those trying to get early access to Destiny on the 8th : xboxone
For those who don't know how to change the region on their console: 1) go into your Xbox One dashboard 2) press the menu/start button 3) hit settings 4) go into system 5) go over to location, language & location 6) look for New Zealand and select it, your console'll restart. If you'd like to keep kinect functionality, when choosing your language and location, be sure to change the "spoken language" to whatever English you speak! Ok so as this happened with Madden 15, we preloaded it and tried to change our consoles region to NZ. It didn't work. My theory is that if you downloaded it from your regions marketplace, it will unlock with that regions time. So what I propose is this: 1) uninstall Destiny if you've already installed it. 2) switch your consoles region to New Zealand (this may be optional, but change it to Samoa's timezone just to be safe (UTC +13) 3) once your console restarts, begin the download from the New Zealand marketplace. Note: this hasn't been confirmed for Destiny, but it has worked for Madden 15 and Diablo 3. Also: you do not have to buy the game from that region, you can buy the game from your region, change your consoles region to NZ, and then downloaded from the NZ marketplace

 

Where can you preorder Titanfall on a cheaper price?

I'm assuming you're based in US/North America, buying from other regions can be cheaper. I know where I am buying games from the UK are usually way cheaper than here, might be worth a shot, all games on PS4 are region free.

 

Both the Xbox One console and Xbox One games are region-free. The only exception are Xbox 360 games, especially when they are backward compatible with the Xbox One.

The regional setting in the console is more for the Xbox profile information and getting you connected to the appropriate regional Xbox store and multiplayer.

 

Changing the region on the console will change the region on that console only, if you attempt to buy from another region you would need a billing address and payment method for that country.

You would also need to change the region of your account, but this can only be done once every three months, so if you do this, you will not be able to change it back for 3 months.
