    Change Child Account into Adult Account


    So, when I created my Xbox account when I was about 11 or 12 years old, I had set it up as a child account. However, I am 16 now and am frustrated because I am unable to utilize parts of my account that I think I should be able to. For example, I am unable
    to download the free backwards compatible Xbox 360 games with gold on my Xbox One due to having a child account, and I am unable to create a custom gamerpic because I get a message saying "Custom Gamerpics are only available to adult accounts."

    I have tried nearly everything I can to make my account an adult account with no success, and I would greatly appreciate any advice you can give me to get this sorted out.

    That wont work

    Changing the age of an account nor removing the parental account will change an account status

    Also removing rhe parenral account befflore thenaccount turna 18 only locks you out until it turna 18 or you readd the accoumt

    Once set the age an accountnis set in stone

    That is with any service

    You can change a child account to an adult account, but you can't change an adult account to a child account. In order to manage them, you would have to create new child accounts for them.

    Is the account in question a child's or adult's account? If its a child account you may want to change it to an adult account and give it a shot.

    I can't remember 100% but I am sure whoever set up the child account can change it. Like if you made an adult account on the xbox before making the child account that adult account can change wether the child account is a child account or and adult one.
    I will just test this out myself now and post how it went

    Only a parental (adult account) can change the privacy settings for a child account. Your parents should open an adult account and add your child account to it.
