Chance To Crit vs Crit Hit Damage

Which one do you favor more, Chance To Crit or Crit Hit Damage?

...........

The reason that I am asking this question is because my Sorceress currently has a 61% chance to land a critical hit and inflicts an extra 535% of damage with it

It also helps a lot that she has 2.41 attacks per second

..........

With that being said, I personally find that having a Chance To Crit higher than 50% is kinda pointless because (if possible) I would rather some how convert that extra 11% Chance To Crit into additional Crit Hit Damage

Inferno Tips & Tricks

I play as a "Tank" also and i have found that massive Crit hit damage mixed with life leech is the best for my Barb. I have 29% Crit hit chance 410% Crit hit damage and %10 life leech. my health is only 54K but one Crit hit does 800k-950k damage and i get
10% as health so as long as i am hitting monsters i am almost imortal. The only thing that kills me are the arcane purple lasers. I HATE those things. i play inferno M3 and i only die 1-2 times per act and i never run away. hope this helps someone. it is a
very fun character build to play with

 

Over 19k hit?

It's called having a proper build....rogues can stack their abilities along with their stats to have insane high crit chance paired up with crit damage. base damage, and armor penetration

 

I've always liked Chance to Crit better.

Speaking of which, I'm really loving XCOM 2. And in that game, the more critical hits, the better.

Firaxis has done a great job. However, I think they could have made a console version though. PC requirements are nothing impressive.

I prefer a balance in Chance To Crit and Crit Hit Damage

If I could control these two stats, I would completely stop increasing my Chance To Crit once it reaches 50% and then concentrate on Crit Hit Damage

@OP its about getting the mix right no point having one without the other.

Plot holes aside. - They're assuming that we lost in EU (non-Spoiler, announced pre-release). I didn't.

Its must own for any Turn Based Strategy fan. And even more so for XCOM fans.

I can't put this game down. Lots of fun.

The base Chance To Crit is 5% and the base Crit Hit Damage is 50% in the game that I'm playing.

..........

First and foremost, I focus on getting my Chance To Crit to at least 25% before even considering to increase my Crit Hit Damage.

There is no point in having an additional 50% Crit Hit Damage (making the Crit Hit Damage 100%) when the chance of it happening is 5% only.

The favorable bonus from my previous statement would be extra Attack Speed instead

I don't have a PC that will run it, trying to let me misses to allow me to update my laptop but its not going well, I preferred the 1994 XCOM enemy unknown, compared to the 360 remake, but XCOM 2 looks really good although i think it will still have some
of the same frustrations for me than the remake.

My main issue was the remake made you play the game they wanted, were the original you played it freely IMO, eg massively restricting the materials, restricting missions etc, although it played the same with some improvements which was good, although I also
think the improved ships were better in the original.

But really looking forward to playing it eventually.

Ah, I see. I play a ton of Elder Scrolls Online, and I tend to always raise the chance rather than the damage. Certain classes like Bosmer and Khajit have racial bonuses that lend themselves to crits, so they make good Nightblades. But I have a higher
level sorcerer built around Daedric summoning, and for that one I ignore crits and just use the biggest Magicka pool possible (the attack damage from summoned pets is derived from the size of your pool).

I've never played Elder Scrolls Online (I played a lot of TES 4 Oblivion), but I can definitely see how damage based on your Magicka Pool is favorable here

ESO is a phenomenal game. Probably the best one I own on this generation of consoles.
