Certified Headsets not working...cell phone headsets do ?????

XB1 support told me to contact this site for help as they have no ability to troubleshoot beyond what we have already done.

I am on the XB1 preview program and receive updates regularly.

Firstly about 1 month ago headset ear speakers and mic would no longer work in either controller (2 controllers both manifesting the same problem).

multiple headsets were tried. All headsets worked fine in computer, or other components that I jacked them into.

Smaller, (cell phone) headsets work fine in each controller but not actual headsets designed to work with XB1.

I have exhausted all efforts on troubleshooting headset issues but they do not apply to my specific issue.

This issue happened after a preview update was installed and several updates have come on since but with no resolve to this underlying issue.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer in resolving this matter.

What kind of headset are you using?

If it's a cell phone headset for an apple phone, they yes that will occur since apple/beats headsets uses a different wiring standard than Android and Xbox.

Can't hear people in Party or Game chat

headphones as in like regular headphones? for like cell phones? or a gaming headset?

It's my understanding that as part of the
preview program you will want to post to the insider forums . Additionally, submitting

feedback through the console will be the best way to make sure the team is aware that you are having an issue.

Also, it might be helpful to know when you say "...actual headsets designed to work with XB1", are you referring to the "Xbox One Stereo Headset" ? If so,
may I suggest you double check "Set up and troubleshoot your Xbox One Stereo Headset" .

USB headsets do not work with Xbox One. The only ones that will work are ones that use a 3.5mm jack with the controller or one of their (Xbox) certified headsets.

When buying a wireless headset for Xbox One, do make sure that it has been certified for use with Xbox.

Be careful as there are wireless headsets that claim they work with consoles, but usually that is via an audio cable.

I know Razer & Turtle Beach make headsets certified for use with Xbox. There may be others.
