Certains game saves wont get transferred or copied into the cloud storage... any help?

I was trying to copy all of my saves into the cloud because im going to get a new hd. Some of my older games like cod 2 and tonyhawk saves wont get copied or transferred. I get a message saying it cant be done. I really don't want to get rid of these saves.
Anyone know whats up? Ive been able to put other games fine.

Is there a way to backup (make a copy of) my external USB harddrive?

The Xbox servers will have all account information (gamerscore and purchases), but not game saves. That's the only thing the servers don't automatically back up. If you get a gold susbcription, you can use the cloud for game saves. The files cannot be transferred
to a PC and back without violating the terms of service. You can plug in a second USB storage device and copy saves to that for extra backup. There are some games that will not allow saves to be copied though, so you may only be able to keep those on the storage
device you'll mainly use.

I'm still very confused about cloud saves....

Thanks for the reply! One last question, once i copied the data from the cloud to the Hard Drive, Is the data always going to save a backup to the hard drive automatically? If so, do i have to select cloud storage when launching the game for that save every
time in order to back it up?

And another thing, i noticed that not all saves can be copied to another storage, only moved. Will these games make it impossible for me to make a backup using cloud?

One way i found to do it, on gears 3 as that had a similar issue, was to play the game from your current save, then in game make a new save and choose the cloud as a the save location.

It may not work that way on the games you mention, but worth a look instead of losing them.

Every game save is transferable...... ALL content is transfered... It will be an issue...

The license is only for 1 copy of the game.

Use cloud storage as a back up for save files or copy to USB memory IMO.

Why? HDD storage and Cloud Storage are two different things.

To manually copy save game files via the data migration cable, attach the cable and drive, then cancel all the transfer dialogs. Go back into System Settings, Memory, and you'll see a Transfer Cable device. You can Copy/Move content to/from the Transfer
Cable device just as you do with any other storage device. Manually copy over the files you want from the old HDD to the new HDD or to Cloud Storage.

You could also upload your save games to the cloud storage so that would only leave any DLC and games you have bought.

Just go to Settings>Storage>Hard Drive and select each game then select COPY (you could use MOVE but COPY is safer in case anything goes wrong during transfer) and select the Cloud
