certain downloads getting slow. What can it be?

The Xbox Servers are flooded and it is slowing everything down at certain times of the day. I am only getting at most 20 MBPS when my download speeds are 200+.

If you get the error message "it took too long" that foreshadows that you don't have enough download speed for your console to load up certain things. Go to your network
settings and click detailed network statistics

Slow install or installation stopped

When you tell it to install a game it downloads that game's day 1 update silently, and installs and updates at the same time, which is why it's so slow. You can start playing Forza when you have 15% downloaded! not certain about other titles.

Your download speed is also highly dependant on what speed you get from your ISP. How can MS improve download speeds, if your connections are slow. Do you even know what your speeds are?

I'm on 120Mb/s down 10Mb/s up. No slow downloads here. As for an HD iTunes movie, they are typically around 3GB, a typical Xbox One game is between 10 and 50GB.

Sorry to hear it. A certain speed is required to be able to play and connect properly to Xbox Live. If you're having trouble connecting then it's probably due to the fact that your hotspot speed has been throttled.

If at all possible try to get connected to an alternate internet source. Perhaps see if you can connect temporarily to a friends internet to download what you need.
