    Certain "backwards compatible" games not working on Xbox One


    I purchased the 360 edition of Assassin's Creed Rogue, with the intention of playing it on my Xbox One S. When I inserted the disc, it said "This game is not compatible on Xbox One". Same thing happened with another game that, according to the website,
    is compatible: Cabela's Alaskan Adventures. Can anyone help?

    Hey! :)

    Certain games will be backwards compatible. They have spent hours upon hours to work on as many backwards compatible games as possible. My assumption is that if they are working on the current xbox one, they will work on the series X.

    Any version of the Xbox one can play all Xbox One Games, but there is a selection of certain 360 and original Xbox Games that are backwards Compatible.

    Its dependent as to what games are "up to date" and working with said emulator. Which is why the backwards compatibility project worked how it did, where they'd make certain games based off of a number
    of criteria backwards compatible on the Xbox One. There's a list of those games. As mentioned, because of things like licensing, regional issues, and companies going out of business... a significant amount of games didn't make the cut before they decided to
    put working on making games backwards compatible on hold in preparation for the Project Scarlet release.
