CEC is Broken on Series X

Ever since the latest build on Series X, CEC is causing my Sony x950h to no longer turn on with any devices via CEC. The Xbox is plugged into my tv and the tv is plugged into a Yamaha 7810 via ARC. The receiver turns on but the tv does not as long as the
Series X is plugged into the tv. It doesn’t matter if the CEC settings on the Xbox are off, it still is killing CEC. I’ve repeated the isssue numerous times. I only have two other “play” cec devices, so I’m not exceeding the three play device limit of CEC.
I alos tried removing the other two cec devices and the tv will not turn on with the Series X.

How do i report this to Micorsoft.

    :)

Xbox one won't turn on my insiginia tv when I turn the console on

Hi TexasMaster9351! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

HDMI-CEC is supported only on Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. You must also enable HDMI-CEC on your TV.

Xbox Series X|S consoles can use an HDMI feature called Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) to send commands to and from CEC-enabled devices (such as TVs and AVRs) that are connected to the console.

This feature can be turned on and off via the TV & A/V power options settings screen. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Sleep mode & startup > TV & A/V power options.

Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon. I keep mine on and it works intermittently as well.

Oh ok... Thanks for the quick response!

I'll just do without it, it's not a must have for me anyway.

Is hdmi cec still broken on Series X?

Hello Speedster996, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

I'm afraid that the HDMI-CEC is still a little on the weird side as far as howit works. Xbox is aware of the issue and if you're in the Insiders program I do recommend using the reporting tool on the console to report it.

In the meantime their suggestion is to make sure the TV supports the feature and, if necessary, try doing a reset on the TV.

XBOX Series X Audio intermittent with A/V receiver

Update, I disabled eARC and HDMI ON to OFF on the Denon receiver. And on the TV, I also disabled eARC. On the Xbox series X I disabled CEC and ever since then I haven't had an issue with the audio. I did notice when I enabled CEC on the Xbox, and choosing Dolby Atmos I lost audio intermittently, so I just left CEC off. Unfortunately I have to use 3 controllers to turn everything on now. Now I can choose different audio formats with no audio loss.
