    CDs on Xbox Music


    Hi all,

    Does anyone know if there is a plan to bring an update that allows you to add cds to xbox music using the One?

    I know we can't rip yet but it can't be far off. It would be good to sync to other devices once it has ripped!

    How do u store them on the xbox1 and play ur own stored music with ur games like the 360? or is there no way? And why is my apple ipod not working with the xbox1 it didnt need to be formated on the 360 and works fine on there shows all my music just here
    on the xbox1 it show folders with nothing in them i got the media app installed too

    Not sure, I know the One plays cd's but doesn't save them to the hdd unlike the 360. There's been a lot of feedback about that and I believe its on its way to being sorted.

    The next few updates are about media playing and synching tv etc. I want to know if an update is coming where i would be able to rip my cds and then sync to my windows devices from the one like you can with streamed data. MS can do it already if you have
    a drive (in your laptop/desktop) but I don't and don't want to buy something else when the Xbox has one built in.

    No as you would've had tp purchase the collectors edition which wss a music CD and mp3s not ot available on xbox since xbox supports wma lossless over xbox not ml3

    Probably fr the music CD

    Since a lot of CDs came with a special sector with mp3s

    To rip music from a CD it must be a standard audioCD, the type you can play in any CD player. You can do this by going to the Music Library, select the CD as the source and then the Rip CD option.

    You can't trandfer music from an MP3 player or a MP3 disc.

    The only way to get music into an Xbox is to rip it from the CD, and you can't move music to other devices.

    Hello SubjectDelta004,

    It's a good question. And, it seems you are not the only one asking about a "Background CD player" . Now, it is true that the Groove app
    will let you "Playing background music on Xbox One" . But, at this time it does not support playing from music CD directly. You can download and
    install the free Audio CD player app from your Xbox. However, that does not support playing background music. Once you leave the app, the music will stop. But, the opposite is not true for things you are downloading. The downloads will continue regardless
    if you are playing a CD. I know this may not be exactly what you wanted. But, it does mean you can play a music CD and download at the same time.

    Also, may I suggest going over to the Xbox
    feedback     website and vote for the "Background CD player" post. It is possible that this feature may show up in future Xbox One updates.
