    CD drive not working.

    Well obviously it's not your fault for the bad choices microsoft continuesly makes.

    I'm going to take my money elsewhere, it was a blast but being royally screwed overed.

    Just to make sure, if I do indeed buy a new 360 and send over all my data using system

    transfer cables how would I go about having my account not be permanently banned?

    Apologies but there is no situation to explain, self repair can not be discussed on the forums. And MS don't make exceptions to the rules as far as the ToU go. As you opened the console it will be considered tampered with.

    Try other discs as well (like movies or music) if those discs can play ok check your game disc for damages or scratches. If the disc drive doesn't works send your console for repairs:

    What type of problem are you having with the CD drive? I don't see any specifics about the problem that would help to give you an answer that may fix your issue.

    More than likely only your console would be banned unless you did something on your account to get it banned. So if you buy a new console and transfer you're account you should have no problems.
