Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on BackCompat list, but console message says not playable ...

It appeared in the Ready to Install list and is on the list of games that are backwards compatible. When launching, I get a message that says,
"This game might not be playable yet. If you're sure it's been released, restart your Xbox and launch it again. Otherwise, wait for the release date. (0x87e10007)" I have restarted my console a few times, and I
still get the same message every time. I haven't seen any messages in the forums about this. So, if it isn't playable yet, when is the release date for it?

Since it was JUST added it probably hasn't had time to migrate through the system yet, though you are seeing it in ready to install. None of these games have been immediately available as someone has to throw a switch to enable it to be downloaded. It is
still mid morning in Microsoft's time zone and I imagine this will be resolved as the day moves forward.

Installation and Run are different "switches". Titles launched today (Alan Wake, Castlevania: SOTN, and Pac-Man) should be playable starting at 8:00AM Pacific (same time as Major Nelson's announcement). Have you tried to launch the game since 8:00AM, and
do you still get the error?

 

It is still doing the same thing. I am in the CST zone. Been trying since 10:18 my time.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. This thread is from last month old and it appears the issue has been resolved. Your issue is a bit different than what's listed. If you haven't tried the steps it provides be sure to give that a go by holding down the
Xbox button for 8-10 seconds and power your console back on.
