So this makes no sense at all.. It gets put on the backwards list. but yet it gets remove from the marketplace. then why I ask was it put on the list. and maybe I wanted to buy it now and play it on my xbox one. and now I cant

i believe the license between sega and disney expired. there probably really is nothing that can be done. they made it backwards compatible so people with new consoles could also purchase it, and gave some advance warning about the delisting. most times
we aren't so lucky. the fact that it is no longer available for purchase would tell me they will not be making a physical copy. you would have to find a friend who already purchased it, and play on their console.

 

Hi, yes that is correct. Castle of Illusion was removed from all digital stores including Xbox Live, Playstation Store & Steam. This was due to Sega removing it due to the Disney license expiring. People who already own the game can still download it
on the xbox 360 and the xbox one, but if you don't own it, then you are out of luck.

 

yeah all I have is the demo still. I never got around to buy it

 

I was trying to buy it now, and it seems to be available to XBOX 360. But it says unavailable on the xbox one entry. I don't know how it works, but if I buy 360 game, will I be able to use in xbox one??

 

It's best to create a new thread instead of bumping and older thread, but if the game is backwards compatible it will work on the One - Xbox One Backward Compatibility
