Casting to xbox

I used to be able to find my xbox one through samsung music and cast my playlist to groove music via wifi, I can't find my xbox one anymore but it finds it through the xbox app and can use the remote feature perfectly has the feature to cast been removed?

I am trying to cast from my phone to my xbox but my xbox won't show up when I try to cast it I don't know what the problem is my xbox is up to date and my phone is to? and they are both on the same wifi please help.

I know there have been several with this same issue in the past few weeks. As a solution some are reporting that using LocalCast appears to work for now. Also be sure you unselect the local player option so that it will bring up a menu to choose another
player instead. Not sure what is going on with this particular issue....just that A LOT are having it!

When was the last time you were able to cast and was this through the Groove music app on your mobile device?

Have you re-installed the app and
power cycled your Xbox?

 

I haven't played my xbox for about a month at least and it was before the update the other day, before I could connect my phone to the xbox through the xbox app, then go to the samsung music app on my phone and there was an option to cast to xboxone, there
is no longer an option to cast to xbox one, I'll try and reinstall and power cycle my xbox tomorrow.

I did some research and could not find a definitive answer if that feature was removed in the most recent system update, but it may also be a functionality that was removed by Samsung as you had to go through the Samsung music app to get it to cast to the
Xbox.

I'll try to do some more research, but let us know the results when you're are able to try them out!

I have tried to revert the samsung music app back to the last version I knew it worked on, and it just can't find the xbox to cast to, so it is definitely something to do with the xbox as I can still pick up other devices in the house to connect to easily,
also my brother has an xbox one which used to appear when I tried to find mine which it no longer does??, I can only assume they removed this feature for some reason.

Sounds like there might be something going on with the latest update.

Since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

 

Hi I have just tried the soft reset using manual settings to no avail, my phone still does not pick up either of the xbox consoles on the samsung smart view app, even though it says I am connected to the xbox in the xbox mobile app, not too bothered I
just think it's a shame you can't play your own music anymore while driving on forza.

 

I have been trying to cast my films from my Samsung pad to the Xbox one. Was working fine for ages but seems to have stopped in the last couple of weeks. I can't seem to see the Xbox when I search for it. I got it to work once but I had to reset the Xbox
completely and now it's back to not working again. Anybody she'd some light on a fix would be great
