    Cast to Xbox One not working on different subnet


    My laptop is wireless and my Xbox One is wired. They are on different subnets since I am using a wifi mesh. From Win 10 I can case a video file to my Xbox One but it will never play until I plug an ethernet cable into my PC. Also, virtually any time I pause
    the cast for even short periods of time, the cast won't start playing again. I have to close the Cast to App on my PC and close the video on the Xbox One before trying to cast to again. Any suggestions?

    Cast to Xbox one not working

    Pressing the "B" button on the game pad causes the Movies & TV app to remove the "connecting" screen, and the video then becomes visible.

    The bug does not seem to happen if the Movies & TV app is already running before you start casting. So, as another work-around you can start the Movies & TV app on the Xbox One first.

    I am also having the same issue. Additionally, both my xbox one and my computer have a hard line connection to my router.

    I am not ready to upgrade to windows 11. Cast has always worked on windows 10 and now after an update to the Xbox Console (to replace groove music with Windows Media Player) cast no longer works. Note, this isn't isolated to my windows 10 devices. No UPnP devices (Android, IOS, etc) are able to cast to the Xbox One console.

    Exactly, thanks for confirming this isn't just me (I suspected it wasn't just me as I have confirmed this on multiple different consoles). Are you on an Xbox One as well? Or series X/S? Trying to see if its also an issue with x/s consoles but simply don't have one to confirm.

    Yep, my application that I developed to cast to consoles no longer works either. It's frustrating because this is absolutely an issue with the new Xbox update, not with the casting device. So there is nothing I can do to fix my app until Microsoft confirms this is an issue and addresses the bug
