I hate to be the one to say it, but I'd feel worse if I didn't.

I'd suggest doing some checking around on what kind of internet service you'll have access to, how often and if there will be any data limits. I say it because I recall seeing a few posts on this forum that were from people in the military and the main complaint
was about there being a lot of required updates for the system and most (if not all) games. I guess there wasn't always internet access... or perhaps it was that there was a data cap or something?

Anyway, I hope there won't be any issues... or maybe you've already checked into it and won't be in a situation where you'll have issues. But I just wanted to point out the possibility that there could be, in hopes you can find out ahead of time and plan
    or re-plan accordingly.

Also, just wanted to add that, according to MS... no surge protector is needed. The Xbox One's power supply already has it built in and they actually recommend not using one. Should save you some space and weight.

I asked about internet. They told me it was available, but I would probably have to pay. Which is what I figured. Not a big issue. My husband was in the military before, and he was able to buy phone service and internet. I'll look more into it, though.
All the games I would be interested in are already downloaded on it and updated currently. I'll look into any sort of data cap, too. I don't see it being an issue, but better to double check.

I will check into the surge protector thing, too. It would be nice to just have the extension cord, though the TV would still be there. But I could at least find a single outlet surge and then a double extension or something. I'll figure it out. Thanks
    for the info! Definitely appreciated.

Blue is correct MS advise against using a surge protector other than the one already built into the power brick.

Case large enough to carry everything including 22 inch monitor?

Alrighty. So, the case came today. The internal is just slightly under 8 inches of depth including the lid. The lid itself is 2.25, leaving me with just slightly under 5.75 in the base. Which leaves me with more finagling, but the tv will obviously fit
in there nice. It came packed completely full of foam. One egg carton type in the lid, 2 solid pieces in the base and one pick and pluck in the base.

I've decided to not use a surge protector after looking around. It's not going to be plugged in unless I'm actually using it, anyhow. It seems the xbox one doesn't need one, and I'm not going to be too terribly worried about the tv.

I am confident I can make this work. It's not ridiculously huge, either. Though, given what it is, you might get funny looks from people who don't know what's in it. If I have locker dimensions right, it should even fit in a wall locker. Once again,
though, double check, yourself, if you plan on using this. Exterior dimensions are: 22.5 x 16.5 x 8.5 which is what I get when I measure as well.

    ^^

I personally use this and it works great! Very very convenient for traveling.also very durable for the price. And the screen is 1080p as well. Even with the system inside it the thing doesnt weigh an awful lot which is also nice. Definitely a recommended
buy for if you travel a lot

Yeah, I saw that and loved the idea, but there's no room for accessories.

After fiddling with everything and playing with some legos, I've got it figured out. Will post pics later. Hopefully I can get the majority of this done before Tuesday.

Case large enough to carry everything including 22 inch monitor?

LOL, so I kept looking at the ext dimensions, none of those will work with a plugged in xbox one. I am instead looking at MCM (22-24120) or MCM (22-25845) Which won't be carry on, so I'll have to check it. Which means I'll have to do a better job of making
sure everything is packed in there tight.

There is an X1 version but it look the same with no room for kinect. Also, not sure what resolution the screen is, may only be 720p if that matters to you.

Tried to post the link but my phone is playing me up.

Case large enough to carry everything including 22 inch monitor?

LOL. I am looking at smaller monitors right now. Though, I like the idea about trimming it down ;) .

    What about one of these?
    www.amazon.com/.../B00BEPFDM0
It says it's tsa friendly, but the dimensions for tsa state 22 x 14 x 9 and this is 19.75 x 16.75 x 7 Anyhow, anyone used one of these? Either this one or the 15.5 inch screen one. If anyone has used one, or gotten an up
close look at one. How does it work? Does the console stay in there while running, and wouldn't it get too warm? Is there like a little power strip in there so you only have one cord to the wall?
