Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. Unfortunately to redeem the 1 year subscription you will have to wait until you have a full year open on your subscription. You are only allowed 36 months on a subscription. Since you stated you have 2
years and a few months it will put you over. Do you have game pass subscription? Remember also when you get the offer to convert if it is a 1 month or 3 month that adds onto the time you have. For example if you have 27 months now and get the 1 month it will
be 28 months of ultimate game pass. If you want the full 36 months you will have to wait until you have 24 months left. here is a

Some Day when the Game Pass Ultimante was Launched you make the conversion the your Old Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate, If you done, all Live Gold or Game Pass you own go be converted to GPU I Think, or you need all your game pass subscriptions over,
or make the conversion of the all new Game Pass you go have

As already explained by XBF Brad, 36 months is the maximum time for any Xbox subscription on your Microsoft Account. You are getting the error because you state that you currently have 2 years and a few months remaining on your Xbox Live Gold subscription,
and entering another 12 month code would exceed the 3 year limit that was already stated. There is no way to reduce the 12 month code. You would need to wait until you have 24 months remaining to enter the 12 month code.

Or you could take advantage of the GPU discount and convert the 2 years and few months, plus the 1 month you are getting discounted to GPU. After converting to GPU, a 12 month Xbox Live Gold pre-paid code
will automatically convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a ratio based on the ERP (Estimated Retail Price) of those codes. Conversion rates are subject to change.

The pre-paid codes for Xbox Live don't expire, so you could redeem the code once your current subscription gets to 24 months, but the GPU discount will likely be over by then.

Ok i understand your answer, but that i want it's to use my live gold before subscribe to GPU.

Because after my 12 months live gold give me 4 months of GPU, if i can use it now , also it give me less than 12 month because the maximum is 36 months.

it's impossible to convert code 12 months live gold in 6 months or change code again other ??
