Carmageddon Max Damage release date confusion

In the US on Amazon it lists the release date as the 5th of July.

The developer says its the 5th of July .

The XBL Marketplace lists the release date as of the 8th of July.

Issues is that last I remember people get banned for playing the game early.

One rep stated the MP trumped what the developer stated. She since changed her story during the chat when she told me to check with the developers "Stainless Games" who was in charge of the release date. In most cases that is not entirely true but I wont
go that route, this is about the confusion on the XBL MP. She also stated you cant get banned for playing the game early than Microsoft's release date which in the policy does state you actually CAN.

SHE did not offer good service , hence why I opened another chat with a guy named "Mack". He was polite, understanding, and very knowledgeable. His best suggestion was to post here. Kudos to him.

What would be great to see is if Microsoft could update their XBL Marketplace page to set the release date in stone to what the developer states, so those of us in America, etc, dont risk getting banned because of a confusion in the release date. As well
as the fact when we do get our game in the mail the servers get opened on the correct date.

Please look into this Microsoft we got 6 days left

and forgive the typos.

Xbox are fixing update problem they say try again later.

 

ADDITION Gamestop US and Bestbuy US for example also have the 5th as the release date.

 

Sometimes the release date of the physical copy & digital copy of a game can be different so it is possible that the digital version is released at a later date.I'll look on the U.K. marketplace later & see what the date is here.

While it does say that about not playing games before they are authorised for play on the service I have never heard or come across anyone being banned for playing a legit copy of a game early.

The only time it did happen was before that was added to the CoC when Halo 4 came out & something went wrong so it looked like people playing legit copies of Halo 4 were playing pirated copies.

It was fixed & anyone banned had that ban overturned.

 

All the shops & on the marketplace it says the release date is the 8th July here in the U.K. but we do tend to get our games released on a Friday anyway & the U.S. on a Tuesday so it is a bit odd.

Thats OK. I have been messaging the developer privately as well and he says in America ALL releases are on the 5th.

And Yes the UK release date is accurate like he said as well.

As for playing it early and getting banned, when the old "banning forum" was going people were complaining about getting banned for playing early. Things is when you violate XBL policy it can be years later and they ban you. In most of the cases people were
banned within hours.

you can easily google stories about people saying they got banned for playing early. No offense while you didnt know anyone doesnt mean it doesnt happen. The dev said "We got pre-release copies and we didnt get banned yet". Doesnt mean anything because they
are developers.

As for getting games on Tuesdays that is normal in the US to get them on a Tuesday. Hence I thought it weird that it was originally said on a Friday.

I have a lot of money invested in my Gamertag I do not want to risk getting banned. So I may just have to hold onto it until Friday if they dont fix it. As I mentioned the one female rep stated there was no policy stating you can get banned and yet there
it was. As well as the fact that just because it said the 8th on the Marketplace she thinks that date was correct. And I mentioned she also stated to talked to Stainless because they set the official date. When I told her they already DID state the 5th she
changed her story. I dont want my Gamertag account to rest in the hands of some Policy Enforcer that has no idea what they are doing.

Sorry for the Extra post but here is a contradiction.

"Stephen Toulouse, director of policy and enforcement at Xbox Live tweeted, "For those asking about MW3 pre-release play: If your copy is legit and obtained legitly, have fun. It's a great game."

So it all seemed fine, but then Toulouse tweeted a few hours later, "clarification: dblchk'd with Activision. Mw3 pre-release play not authorized. So pls be patient. Playing early may impact your account!"

And this was a post from the head of enforcement. While peoples outside opinions are just the "opinions" (again no offense. The facts of the matter is Microsoft cant even get their heads together.

You should read the forum hear where I think I posted the trouble I had to go thru when Fedex lost my Xbox.

 

Seriously no response from Microsoft on this ?

Well so much for believing the second rep I talked to. He told me posting here was going to get this handled by Microsoft.

 

Third and fourth rep no help at all. Cant wait til Tuesday to see their phones light up and the forums get flooded.

What a waste of time to even care.
