    Bought a 12 month Xbox live gold card and when I use it I get "this code is not yet active" what should I do?

    Problems Buying Online

    I used to get an error code when I wished to buy but then I found out that it was because of some issue with my credit card. I contacted my credit card company and they did an online verification and then I was able to make my purchase.

    You will need to contact the retailer you purchased the card from and request they activate it for you.

    Actually a prepaid card would overwrite a trial card. Does it give you an error code when you receive the error message?

    Change how you pay for a subscription

    Hi I use to have credit cards to handle subscriptions... If the card maybe declined or expired or unable to process due to bank network errors. Clean the account of old cards, just use one card for now. Its best to try Pre-paid Cards or XBox Card or Microsoft
    balance to pay for subscriptions. You can have paypal as the default. Switch to prepaid card or paypal as a default. It help me from getting message errors, one card is causing the error. Visit: https://account.microsoft.com/

    What types of cards are they? If they are pre-paid credit cards then that may be why they cannot work as most pre-paid cards are not compatible with the Live service.

    I have the same error as of OP.

    I already had a card added and it got expired recently. So, I tried adding different cards for purchase which resulted in this error.

    I tried different credit and debit card options. All are giving the same error.

    Trying from India.
