Captures not showing up?

I have an external hard drive for my Xbox one.

But I use the base internal hard drive on the console to store my game captures.

I decided I was going to transfer all my game captures to a USB so I can compile them for YouTube vids I was going to be making. I unplug my external drive so I can access my internal one and the only ones there are the ones I've recently captured.

I plug back in my external drive just in case my captures accidentally went there. All of my captures aren't there either.

I'm freaking out.

ALL of my captures are saved locally and not on the Xbox network so if I lose them then I have nothing.

Is there anything I can do?

Hello Jamaaldyung1, did you try to check in the cloud or if you had transferred the captures to the one drive?

You can also check the status of captures via the Xbox mobile app.

I checked my Xbox app and there's nothing.

Hey there!

I’m not sure if it’s because my clips are a good 40 or 50 days old (I’ve heard they self delete after a while) but I’ve had month old clips and screenshots stay. I did clear up some space to see if it was that, but when I looked back on my captures (which wouldn’t load up in the menu) they went from 72 to 42 out of nowhere. I backed them up to my one drive and the clips that disappeared were saved in the one drive. I can try power cycling to see if that works.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

I just want to clarify, are these captures uploaded to your Xbox Network? If yes, simply perform a powercycle to re-sync your data.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work, please clear your alternate MAC Address.

Settings > General > Network Settings > Advanced Network Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear Restart.

If these game clips were stored locally and you have previously reset your console keeping your games and apps they will be deleted.

You're correct, Any game clip or screenshot uploaded to the Xbox network that gets no views in 30 days will be deleted. Viewing it yourself counts as a view and saves a capture from deletion. For your reference, you can check this link: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/...
