    Hi, quick dumb question -

    Me and my partner both have xboxes. Sometimes, he plays mine as I have the one x.

    Do the screenshots/videos that he captures, take up space on my capture storage on my Xbox, or is the storage based on accounts?

    We appreciate your coming to the Xbox community, regarding your question, storage is based on available space on the console, or on the external device, you save them. The captures are also uploaded to Xbox Live, but console space is still required.

    maybe because the 4K captures takes a lot of memory, try to minimize the capture duration through capture settings and make sure that your captures storage is not full then try again.

    Hi Jacob!

    May I confirm if your clips and captures are saved on your internal storage or external storage?

    Let's make sure that automatic upload is enabled.
    Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Settings > Preferences > Capture & share > Automatically upload.

    To upload a capture that wasn’t uploaded automatically, select the capture, and then select Upload.

    The Storage Epansion card from Seagate is for Xbox game installs/downloads. It can't be used to record gameplay, which is why your Google searches were unsuccessful.

    All you need to capture externally is an inexpensive USB 3.0 storage device. A suitable flash drive can do it.
