Capture settings changes after every update recently

After thought. Are your clips set to auto upload to xbox live? It will still show in recent captures.

Recently my xbox will only record a few seconds of my captures. I have read that a power cycle will help it so ive done that several times and each time after the first capture is yhe length it is supposed to be, but after that the captures shorten.
Is there another thing i could try?

Hello Ethan, you can easily fix this by going into capture settings by pressing Xbox Home>Capture Menu>Capture Settings. After entering capture settings go to “Record What Happened”, From here you can choose to make it capture from 15 Seconds To 2 Minutes

You now have more control over what gets captured and recorded in games. In Settings > Preferences > Capture & share, choose between “Captures by me,” “Captures by me or games,” and “Don’t
capture.”

Try to change that.

Same thing here. It started a week ago. My system is completely updated and nothing’s changed in my settings. My capture settings remain at 720p SDR. I tried changing the audio settings and none of them fixed the issue.

I am having this issue as well. Let me tell you what I discovered. If I do not use my headset I can capture party chat AND game chat. Once I connect my headset I am only able to capture party chat. I use the avermedia Livegamer 4k GC573. I used to be able to capture it all but now I cant. So how you can say it is a capture card update is crazy to me,

Avermedia never updates this thing and there has been a few updates on my series x. Up until recently this worked. Then out of no where it just stopped. Nothing has changed setting wise for anything on my end. I did notice that the audio options menu is now different and it is forcing me into "audio settings are being optimized for headset" bla blah blah now. Was never like this before.
