    Capture Hauppauge Colossus help!


    Iam trying to capture gameplay hdmi with my pci hauppauge colussus card.

    Iam using this type of splitter off ebay.

    so my xbox is set to 720p and I can record gameplay if i remove ths splitter and go directly to card with hdmi cable, but when i plug in the splitter i can't get footage on my Colossus but my tv does get the xbox output.

    The reason The splitter is needed is casue of lattency, you can't functionly play and watch the xbox360 gameplay when recording directly to the colossus there is a delay .

    and this is my setup . can anyone sheed some light on why this is not workig for me.

    Can anyone recommend a good capture card? I had a Hauppauge HD PVR before and didnt really rate it

    Hi,

    You mentioned in your post a 'Hauppauge Rocket', this is a capture device not a converter Capture devices will
    always have latency issues.

    You need to buy a real HDMI to VGA adaptor.

    I had that Roxio Game Capture for a while. It was ok since you didn't need splitters and the price is fair. Not as good quality as a Hauppauge though.

    Wired controller + Hd PVR 2 + new Res options.

    I am familiar with this and it may be as simple as choosing 1080i on the xbox. 1080p does not work with this setup or the pci express capture card that hauppauge makes.

    It depends if your using a capture card like this one on amazon that you install in your PC: Hauppauge Colossus PCI Express Internal HD-PVR

    Or if you use a camcorder that you point at your TV like I do right now lol. You need to let people know how you want to do it so they can help you better so far that's all I can do for you right now but I'll help as much as i can. I have an HD camcorder
