Capes in Minecraft

Hi i like to play minecraft but their is one thing i just don’t understand capes i have seen other people wearing capes and i want one i have been trying for months to even find a way and i am still trying can you guys please tell me how to get a cape or
please get me one because sometimes people brag that they have capes and 90.0 percent of people have them on p.e. But i just really want one and please tell me if you want to be rude i understand but i have always wanted a cape any i want you guys to know
