Cant't change my xbox privacy settings

I migrated my mojang account to a microsoft account today, but Minecraft java edition multiplayer and minecraft realms are blocked because of the privacy setting, naturally I started searching for a solution, but every time I get redirected to the page where you are supposed to change the settings, the page is an unhelpful block of text.

it was an issue with parantal accounts. I solved with the help of comments above, should have said it sooner. Kinda feels silly that I wasted your time on typing, I appriciate you helping though, thanks

Since it was made a while ago (I assume), It could be related to another parental account.

You can also contact our live agents to check your account is under a parental account or a part of a family group.

Hello @ThijquintNL! hope that you are doing well today!

It seems that your account is a child account. what you need to do to allow the multiplayer is:

Log in to Xbox settings with the parent Microsoft account.
Select the child account's profile.
Select Xbox One/Windows 10 Online and choose Allow for Join multiplayer games AND You can create and join clubs.
To enable chat for people not on the person's friends list, they will need to go to their privacy settings and enable Others can communicate .

Is your account 18+?

If not:

Try changing it this way.

Go to the top right corner, click on your avatar

click on my microsoft account

Click on "Your Information" on the top tab

go on the date of birth

Change to a date that matches age 18+.

Once this is done, log out your microsoft account from all open browser sites,

wait 20 minutes for the updates to take effect on the server, then click the link below.

Look for the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab

And change the settings "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live", "You can create and join clubs", and "You can join multiplayer games" to Allow.

Once all that is done, wait another 20 minutes to update the changed settings and that's it.
