can’t watch movie I downloaded

Thanx for your reply schnurren . I tried the steps that i hadn’t yet tried and still no joy . I will contact the support team and see how that goes , i havent had much luck with that either , seem to go around in circles . Once again thank you for your
help .

In case that nothing works for you, please contact
Xbox Support team (so at least they can refund you or fix it for you).

Quick question, is the films app it’s self not working or is the movie not loading up on the films app. I mean the end result is the same that you can’t watch the movie, but if it’s the app crashing, I would re-download the app again and see what happens

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

• Is the issue happened to a specific movie or multiple movies?
  

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the Movies & TV app on your console. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

• Check your internet connection: Make sure your Xbox Series X is connected to the internet and that your connection is stable. You can test your connection by going to Settings > Network > Network settings.
  
• Clear the cache of the Movies & TV app: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, then go to My games & apps > See all > Apps. Highlight the Movies & TV app, press the Menu button on your controller, and select Manage app > Clear saved data.
  
• Uninstall and reinstall the Movies & TV app: Go to My games & apps > See all > Apps. Highlight the Movies & TV app, press the Menu button on your controller, and select Uninstall. Then, go to the Microsoft Store and search for the Movies & TV app. Install the app and try to watch your rented movie again.
  

If none of these steps work, you can contact Xbox support for further assistance. As for the refund, you can request a refund for your rental by going to account.microsoft.com > Payment & billing > Order history. Find the rental and select Request a refund.
