Can't voice chat friend after unblocking them.

Hi,

I had a misunderstanding with a friend the other night and I blocked them. Since then we've worked things out and I've unblocked them and re-added them as a friend. However we can't hear each other through voice chat. We play gta online together and we're
in the same crew, our game chat is set to crew and friends and I made sure to unmute them as well. Even after restarting my console and removing them as a friend and re-adding them again, I can't talk to them. In party chat it says they're still blocked, even
though they're on my friends list again.

Glitch! Have one friend that keeps defaulting to mute

I have one friend that I can’t unmute. Tried blocking/unblocking and that doesn’t work and the mute/unmute is not working so I can’t unmute in chat or in game chat. Please help!

Keeping your friends from Xbox 360

You can message them but you can't voice chat.

1. Are you seeing this issue with an Xbox One or Xbox 360 console?

2. Do you see any issue using voice chat with any other friends?

3. Do you see the same issue with this friend in game chat across multiple titles?

4. Does it make any difference which one of you invites the other to party chat?

Hi, thank you for the reply.

I'm on Xbox One. The problem is mainly with one friend, the one I mentioned that I had briefly blocked. It weirdly keeps having periods where we can hear each other then we can't, without either of us doing anything to change it. However, I have had other
friends have brief issues where they can't hear each other either and there weren't any issues with blocking each other prior to it happening at all, it just happened randomly then went away again a few hours ago. It seems like it might be a problem with Xbox
Live communications in general rather than just us two. We haven't played anything than GTA Online together, so I can't say if it's affecting other games.

Usually it's me who starts the party since my friend struggles a bit with technology. When we are in a party together, there's the button there to unblock him and sometimes it works but other times, I can keep pressing it and it won't unblock him.

To clarify, is this friend enrolled in the
Update Preview via the Xbox Insider Program? There's currently an active investigation into an issue in the latest preview build which can interfere with arty chat if one of the members of the party chat is on a preview update.

I understand you need help on your in game voice chat with your friend.

If I may ask, is this only happening on that specific game? Did you try other games just to check if you can do voice chat with this person?

Try also deleting your friend from your list and adding them back or try blocking and unblocking him just to see if that helps.

Let's have you and your friend:

remove your profiles,

power cycle the console, and sign back in to try that once more.

Be sure to unplug the console once it is powered down and let us sit for at least 5 minutes.

Post back and let us know if that still does not work.
