Can't verify by phone

My daughter's verification is being sent to a landline. How do I change that number
whilst using the Xbox One?

I have tried the link sent previously by someone which I use through the security settings section on my PC, but my mobile number is shown on there already. I re-enetered it. Still no joy.

How do I change it whilst using the Xbox One? Can I?

This is why I use a Playstation. The endless hoops you have to jump through with this damn console is a joke.

Non Hotmail accounts are still ms accounts the recovery email is what you set it to

When you say you need to verify the email when you sign in it asks you to verify your email?

Try sign in at account.live.com and see if it pops up a box saying you need to verify the email if it does somewhere in that box there should be a link that basically should give you a chance to change the email used for signing into your account.

Account security is no joke for the xbox live service this is why there has never been a serious breach of a major number in account data like somewhere else

You will want to sign into her account at account.live.com

once there you can go to security in the blue bar at the top of the screen.

It will probably ask you to verify the account with a security code now if you do not have access to any of the security proofs (where MS is sending the code) then you can change the security proof BUT there would be a 30 day waiting period before the security
proof change takes affect.

You would still be able to sign into the account but anything that would require a security proof (changing password, phone numbers, security proofs) Once the 30 day hold is over at that point you would be able to do any of those things on the account because
the security proof would be changed at that point.

If you do have the capability of accessing the current security proof and can verify the account ownership with that then on the next page you would be able to change the current security proof you can have multiple security proofs (email addresses, Phone
numbers) so that if you do lose access to one you always have a back up.

Ok , if there's suspicious activity you only can use the number or the recovery form, the recovery form could be fulfilled as many times as you want, if it tells you that it's not enough information means that part of that information it's not accurate

To use the recovery email you You should have configured it before losing access, even knowing the email and password should give you the i don't have that number option and the possibility to change it waiting for 30 days after the change takes effect
