Can't use Xbox Live, even though it says it is connected

I just brought my Xbox home from college and it suddenly has stopped working properly, in regards to Xbox Live. I connected it to my home wifi and it seemed to be working all right that night, as in I could play my online games and such. However, the very
next day it stopped working. When I try to play an online game, use Netflix, or Youtube, it keeps telling me that I should mark it as my home Xbox the next time I'm online. It also acts like I am not connected to online, even though I have repeatedly tested
the internet connection and multiplayer connection, and each time it says that the connection is fine. This is really quite annoying, as I just want to play my games. Is there a way to fix this, or should I send it in to be repaired?

I can't renew my Live membership

I just get an error, not sure what the code is, but it basically says I can't connect to Xbox Live even though I am already connected to Live.

 

try and just sign out of your profile , then back in....if its still acting up , try this below.....

go into settings and accounts and remove all the profiles , (make sure you have the email and password to get them back ) after you remove the profiles , shut the xbox down by holding the xbox logo on the console for 8 seconds till it powers down , while
it is off , unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds to clear them also , plug the modem and router back up and when they are online , turn the xbox back on , when it is all the way up , re add your main profile ...it may sit there and sync a little while
but all SHOULD be good afterwards ...
