Can't use trial code

Hey all,

I'm currently trying to use a 7 day trial code on my One but the console is saying I already have Live, which ran out today. Between the time I can get a card and now I'd like to use a trial. I have heard that if you've already used a trial code then you
can't use it again- is this true? I've gone through previous topics on this subject and people have said to enter the code on this website but the site and console are telling me the same thing.

If anyone has a way around this I'd love to know. The code has not been used.

Can't redeem Gold membership prepaid card. What is Token State?

Also, you can't use a trial code while you have an existing Gold membership.

You can use a trial card anytime you're silver. It doesn't matter if you've used one before. You're showing as gold here though so you may want to double to check your subscription at

Er...my question is that a 'xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial codes' could be used/sold as 'xbox game pass 14 days trial code' or 'xbox gold live 14 days trial code', right?

I understand that a xbox game pass 14 days trial code or a xbox live gold 14 days trial code can't be used/sold as xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial code for sure.

Because a 'xbox games pass ultimate 14 days trial code' equals a 'xbox game pass 14 days trial code + xbox live gold 14 days trial code', so for new Microsoft/Xbox accounts, a 'xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial codes' could be used/sold as 'xbox game
pass 14 days trial code' or 'xbox gold live 14 days trial code' , right?

Please help to clarify.

Gold trials will work for any account that is not actively gold. Even if you've previously had gold.

Daft Badger

Pre paid codes can be added to extend a gold sub,free trials can't. A free trial isn't a pre paid code.
